I was lucky enough to have Lunch at the Porshce USA HQ located in Atlanta, about 10 minutes from the airport. I am a huge Porsche fan, though I’ve never been able to afford one, one day that will change. Growing up as a kid my family owned multiple service stations, but my Grandfather was the first Master Porsche technician in the state of Vermont. I recall stories of people buying the 356, if you’re not aware the 356 used a roller bearing crank shaft, guy would blow the motors up and the United States didn’t have the specialized press for the bearings and the motor had to be shipped over to Germany to be rebuilt. He told stories of the early day 911’s and people wrapping them around trees only days or even hours after buying them. He told me the old adage, “when in doubt power out”.
On December 26th 2010 my grandfather passed away, he was a father to me and taught me everything I know about the auto industry, life, and cars. This place is hallowed ground, I won’t go into a huge emotional post but I had lunch at the 356 restaurant, which overlooks the new test track. Its a pretty amazing spectacle to watch 911’s tearing up the track while you sit down for a burger, I strongly suggest if you’re ever in Atlanta making an appointment to dine there.

Looks awesome! I’m close to the VAG headquarters (NoVa) but all I get to see are VW’s and the occasional Veyron. It's a dream of mine to own a lemans car, even if it's just a piece of art in my house.

VAG brought one to their headquarters for some event they were hosting and they casually parked it in their garage, so my friend that works there told me to stop by and check it out. The other I saw at Katie's cars & coffee, owned by a prince, flew his car out for the event (someone told me VAG asked him to but I dunno). Very cool things.
